3rd party billing +radius+ATA186

Hi Everybody,

I'm testing a billing solution that works with radius.

Question: Could I point an ATA 186 to do AAA in that system without a gatekeeper???

If I use a gatekeeper, how can I do AAA to the end points (I mean ATA 186)???

Someone please give me a hand with that issue.

Hi Luiz,

the ATA by itself can't do no authentication/accounting, you need to use a gateway/gatekeeper/SIP proxy/whatever for that.

In the case you use a gatekeeper, it should be

configured in proxy mode in order to properly do

the accounting.

Thanks for your reply. A customer of my offered me a billing system for test. I'm doing several operational tests to see if is enough to support our services.
