7905 "Monitor" feature

We are a social service agency and have installed the 7905's in hallways in our residential program. We went with these as they were cheaper than the 7940's we have everywhere else. Our problem is that we sometimes need to monitor the phone calls between residents and their families. Although "Monitor" is a feature, it is really just a mute. Is there a way to turn on the speaker to hear the conversation without turning off the mic on the handset. We want the resident to be able to use the handset, but have the phone conversation played through the speaker.

Hi,

unfortunately that's not possible with the 7905 and 7912 phones

The datasheet describes the call monitor feature as follows:

"Call monitor (speaker-only, no microphone)"
