I am running CCM 4.0(2)a. We have 7912 in a classroom environment and would like to have the phones flash not ring. On the line configuration the ring setting is not available for this device. It is a configurable choice for the 7940 and 7960s to ring, ring once, flash and so on .In CCM 3.4 it is also a configurable choice for the 7912s sets I kind of have a big problem if we cant change to flash Any advise will be greatly appreciated .Thanks in Advance!
You're running across a bug in 7912/05/02. The bug mainly says that because the phone hardware on those phones only allows maximum one active audio channel can be chosen from either the speaker or the handset. So if you are in a call and the second call comes in, it would be necessary to shut off the handset in order to use the speaker to ring the phone if "ring once" is enabled. So they decided to disable the functionality to prevent confusion on this.
