7914 + Shared Line + Hold Problems

Customer has 2 receptionists each with a 7961 + 2 7914's on each phone. On these 7914's are 2 shared lines for each partner in the office (lines 1 & 2 respectively).

A call comes in on a partner's phone and is displayed properly on the 7914. The receptionist answers this line without issue.

However, when she attempts to place the call on hold, the HOLD softkey does not appear. IF she answers a call on any line on her 7961 HOLD appears. It is only when she answers a call on any line on the sidecar.

Is there a SoftKey configuration that has to be changed on the 7914's to allow it to use the same softkeys as the 7961?

THANKS

Matt

Matt,

What firmware loads are you running on the 7961 and 7914? also are you using the auto line select feature on the phone?

Thanks

also,

if using CCM 4.1 and above, double check all shared lines have the same 'max calls/busy trigger' settings. (bottom of the phones line configuration page)

these settings when different among shared lines cause quite a few weird symptoms.

Re: 7914 + Shared Line + Hold Problems

looks like it's a firmware issue... for some reason the 4.0 7914 code was included in the version of CCM 4.1(3) and is not a supported phone load when used with a 7961...

thanks everyone.

Make sure you rate posts and say if they solved your issue. That way the red check appears so we know it is a problem with a solution...and so those who helped get points.
