7940 switchport

Does anyone know what the maximum number of devices a 7940 and a 7960 switchport support? i.e using a hub?

They are not designed to have a hub hanging off them.

True enough. That being said I had a situation where thre was no other choice but to try it or not have a phone there. I was able to hang a 4 port netgear switch off the 7940 and put 2 networked printers there. The call volume is very low, like one a month. I wouldn't try this with a high call volume though and would try to avoid it alltogether if possible

Can you expand on what the issues might be if you hang more than one PC off the back of a phone?

Packet loss is the first thing that comes to mind. It is a very basic soithport and if you try to push to much data through I don't think the port will handle it very well. I have 2 printers hanging off one but printer traffic is not as consistent and high as printer traffic.
