7941 callmanager express compatibility

Can anyone confirm whether or not the 7941G (and/or 7961G) is compatible with callmanager express? There's very little info on the Cisco site regarding this, and one of our suppliers tells us it isn't compatible, despite selling smartnet contracts for the 7941 w/CCME licence. (though the only licence they sell for the phone is for CM from memory)

Hi Brad ,

Here is a thread from a few weeks ago that seems to answer your question regarding support for the 7941G/7961G on CME.

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=IP%20Communications%20and%20Video&topic=IP%20Telephony&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.1dda54fc/2#selected_message

Looks like the answer is no,but they will be supported somewhere down the road.

Take care.

Rob

Although not explicitly stated, the following links point to CME compatibility. The first shows a device type of 7941 using the reset command. The second lists a bug involving the 7941 and CME.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Thanks for the detailed response. When I initially searched netpro that thread didn't come up.

Looks like we'll need to stick to the 7940/7960 for the moment, but I'll keep an eye on this in future CME versions.

Hi Brad,

No worries! The credit goes to the real NetPro's, Shanky,Aaron and Brandon who, as always, come up with great answers.I just remember reading the thread because we are getting ready to place an order for new phones.

Take care.

Rob

Just an update, I've used 7961G with CME 4.0, with some tricks it works just great.
