I have a 7960 phone in a remote building that is experiencing DSP errors. The user says her phone will "crackle" and she is dropping calls.
When I have looked at her phone, I don't see the errors and haven't actually seen a call get dropped.
When I look at the phone's webpage, on the debug display I have the "DSP Error [0xffffdfd1, 0xffffdfd1, 0xffffdfd1, 0xffffdfd1](3) -8239 - (0)" repeated many times. I also have "29: DSP Keepalive Timeout [0xffffffff, 0x14, 0x0, 0x2](3) 19 - (0) (43)" entries in the log.
I have reset the phone, and also upgraded the software to the 8.0(4.) version that was released in August. The phone is still having problems.
I checked the switchport that the phone is plugged into and it has no errors.
There are 15 other phones in the same building and none of them show any DSP errors.
I am correct in thinking this is a hardware issue with the phone? Or does anyone have suggestions where to look for more details?

the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
