7960 Call Display Issue

We have an issue regarding the call display on the 7960/7940 phones. Here it goes....

When we receive a call on either a 7960 with multiple lines configured, and the call is placed on hold, we see a call display with the incoming number flashing on the display.

When a second call comes in on the second line and placed on hold, the call display overlays the line 1 call display like a blanket and the line 1 call is hidden from the user. I assume its a software issue with the phone's firmware, but cannot confirm. Any idea's how I can correct this anomoly??
