To unlock the Cisco SIP IP phone, complete the following steps:

Re: 7960 network configuration menu locked?

In Phone firmware versions 4.1 and earlier, " * * # "

was used to UNLOCK & LOCK the configuration settings

of the phones.

As of Phone firmware version 4.2, the phone now uses

the "phone_password" configured within the config files

as the password for unlocking the manual edit screens.

This capability now shows up in the Settings menu as

"Lock Config/Unlock Config" based on the current state.

" * * # " is no longer valid for unlocking manual config

screens.

Regards,

Clay
