7970 problem!!

Hi all,

If I click "settings" and select "User Preferences", then I select "Brightness".

I want more bright, but I cant even adjust to half way on the bar.

Everyone know why???

Answer my question myself.

To operate in full-power mode, the Cisco IP Phone 7970 requires a Cisco-approved external power supply.

You need to plug in the power cube.. The 7970 cannot go to full power without an external power adapter.

We had the same problem. Although I can't remember the specifics.. it had to do with the SWITCH into which the 7970 phone in question was plugged into. First, it must support PowerOverEthernet and it must be using an updated version of the IOS on that switch. We needed to upgrade the IOS software on the switch and then it worked just fine. We have a WS-C3560-24PS. Sorry I can't be more specific.
