*82 Route Pattern

Hello,

Im playing around with CCM 4.1 and trying to get a route pattern for *82 but i cannot find any docs (mostly like my search strings are bad) on how to create a proper *82 route pattern.

I tried this pattern which allows me now to press the * key.

9.*82[2-9]XXXXXX (local dial only, provide outside dial tone, do not discard digits)

But when i dial 9*825555555 the phone call just hangs up on me, Provides outside diall tone, but doen't ring. ???? dazed and confused.

Anyone have any ideas? Im sure its been done before.

Thank you.

Re: *82 Route Pattern

Two questions:

What does the carrier want to see in this example? *8525555555 or 9*8525555555 ?

Is the gateway mgcp or h323?

Most times, the 9 is just an trunk access code used to route to an outside line. It will usually be stripped of before the carrier gets the call setup.

If h323, does the pots dial-peer strip the 9 and only the nine? debug voip dial-peer all will tell you what's going on there.

If mgcp, why aren't you stripping the 9? (discard digits pre-dot)

Michael
