A question of DSP resources

Hi there!

I have a 2621XM with a NM-HD-2VE and 2MFT-E1 in Slot 0. If I understand correctly, the 3 fixed DSPs will support 48 calls, whilst the 2 E1s could support 60 simultaneous active channels in theory. Can somebody please explain to me this discrepancy, and how you could actually achieve the 120 calls that Cisco list as a maximum for the 2621XM.

Thanks!

Oli.

Re: A question of DSP resources

Hello,

The NM-HD-2VE is a good solution when you need both low-density analogue or BRI and E1/T1.

For full 2xE1 capacity you need a different module, NM-HDV or NM-HDV2.

You can achieve 3xE1 PRI if you use add an AIM-VOICE for the third one.

Hope this helps,

Martin
