Hi,
I want to upgrade the CM version from 3.1 to 3.3. I don't have the upgrade kit.
I want to reinstall the callmanager. but I hope to keep the old data. Can I backup the old data in CM ver 3.1 and restore to CM ver 3.3 ?

Hi,
you can backup data in CM 3.1 and restore to CM 3.3 using a version of the MCS backup utility that is compatible to both versions (3.5.6 and above). You can download it from CCO. But you certainly need the upgrade kit for the upgrade...

Hi
The fact that you can upgrade from 3.1 to 3.3 depends on the version that you have as callmanager. Have a look at the compatibility guide:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/ccmcomp.htm
If you are running a supported version then you can do the upgrade. The upgrade is done by taking a backup of the existing data, installing the 3.3 version and then importing the data back into the CCM. The backup utility that needs to be used needs to be at least 3.5.18 but can be 3.5.6. More info on the upgrade to eg 3.2 can be found at
