I have an issue that appears to be a timeout problem.<br><br>This is Exchange 2000/AD directory. In Unity, when I go to add a user in the SA (the +), I get the following error message in the IE pop-up window probably 50% of the time:<br><br>Error Type:<br>Active Server Pages, ASP 0113 (0x80004005)<br>The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. yeah, this is a known issue that'll crop up if you have a bunch of Exchange servers in your system or lots of storage groups (or both). The IDC (the guy that abstract the directory for the SA folks) isn't terribly efficient about how it populates the list of users/servers/storage groups offered for adding new users and importing existing ones and it can take longer than the default IIS timeout to get this data.
The IDC is being overhauled for the 4.0 release but in the meantime your only option here is to extend the timeout for the SA. You can do this in IIS admin console. Select the SAWeb node and hit "properties". On the virtual directory tab hit the "configuration" button. On the "app options" tab there's an "ASP Script Timeout" value there that should default to 90 seconds... crank this value up a bit to see if you can get in under the radar.
They do have a large number of message stores. One server has 20 all by itself.
I cranked up the timeout value to 2 minutes and that seems to have relieved the timeouts I was getting before. It's just painfully slow to add users. Even the import tool takes 20 minutes to load up the user list.
