I follow the stepes in CM 4.1X to create Personal address book and fast dial in CM 5.0(4).

While I press the service button, it indicate the installed services.

If I select one of the service , the phone dosplay HTTP error.

Who has setup this phone services in CM5.0(4)? Please share your idea in this topic with thanks!!

http error is usually generated due to http not being available as a service at the specified server in the URL provided for the service.

check your Enterprise Parameters for the global setting and Device parameters for the device specific setting.

you may have a typo in the URL field or perhaps the server needs http service enabled or cycled.

if all else fails, you should be able to view the traces from CCM on the button push request.

also, a sniffer, http://ethereal.com, of the activity will be a good help in determining what is happening and what is not.

Of note, remember CCM 5 is Linux based and the traditional service URL for fastdials references an ASP file. I am trying to figure out where the actual service lies now that CCM 5 is released but dont see any documentation. Of note, the personal directories option now appears under the directories button out of the box...I just need to figure out how to subscribe to it so that I can apply it to a Service URL button. If anyone figures this out please post. In the mean time I'm gonna sniff the phone request and see if I can figure out where the URL now lives in CCM5. Personal note...CCM 5 docs are sorely lacking.

I sniffed this and found the new link to be:

http:///ccmcip/xmldirectory.jsp

HTH,

KK

Scratch that...that is an intermediary link to the directories option. Here is what you need:

URL - http:///ccmpd/login.do

parameters:

userid - configure just like the old UserID

pin - configure just like the old UserPIN

By default each user is subscribed to PAB and Fast Dials. You will need to associate each user account to the Standard CCM User security group. You will then be able to access the CCMUser option page and configure these 2 services. And as you know these 2 services are accessed via the Directory button not the Services button.

PDI Helpdesk tells me

"I found that the PAB/FD functionality changed a little from 4.x to 5.x. They are no longer accessible from the Services menu, only from the Directory menu. The prompt for the PIN is working as expected according to the development team."

My complaint is that user has to enter PIN everytime (unless they use the Personal Directory again before about a 10 min timeout expires).

Does anyone know how to get around this PIN entry requirement?

Does anyone know of any way to get FD and PAB back on the Services button in CM 5.x?

If this is the only way they work now, need to update some training docs......Mike
