After Hours Message

I have a phone that customer wants to play an after hour message. This phone is main line in and there is no user associated with this so there is no exchange user. This is for announcement only; it will not take voice mail. Is there some way in Unity 3.0(2)to do this?

Lan/Wan Administrator
North Harris Montgomery Community College

Re: After Hours Message

sure, you can just use a call handler (i.e. as opposed to a subscriber). Call handlers have 5 greetings you can configure to play:

Standard - plays during the "day" time

Off Hours - plays at night

Busy - when the phone forwards busy to that number

Internal - when the calling extension forwarded from that number is a subscriber

Alternate - when active it over rides all other greetings

If you record and activate the standard and off hours greeting for a call handler and associate it with an appropriate schedule, calls hitting that handler will get different messages during the day vs. night.

The down side of a call handler is you can't adjust the greetings over the phone conversation as you can with a subscriber... you have to adjust greetings via the SA console.
