Analog Modem supported on FXS interfaces for routers, VG248 or ATA188 ?

It's not clear for me if the analog modem's are supported on the FXS interfaces for the routers (CISCO1760-V, CISCO2600, CISCO3600 or CISCO3700), for the VG-248 or the ATA 188.

Somebody has the answer ? or does a document on the CCO explain this ?

And if the analog modem's are supported; what kind of modulation (V90, V34, V33 etc ...)?

From practical experience, you can use modems on any of those platforms, just don't expect the full performance of the modem. More likely you are going to be around 14.4 or at most maybe 19.2.

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/ga/prodlit/vg2ap_ds.htm (for vg248 compatability)

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/788/voip/ata-faq.shtml#Q29 (ATA's aren't as compatible, but I have customers who use them)

Had some trouble finding anything specific on the FXS ports on a router, but I know they are supported.

Also, if you are thinking about a router, you might consider using a WIC-2AM and using software to dialout, you will get better performance. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/modules/ps2797/products_tech_note09186a00800ad45b.shtml
