ANI send over T1

Hello everyone, I am not too familiar with the T1 signaling, but I have made some test over a T1 for passing the ANI, and seems that it isn't working.

I'm using the next configuration

controller T1 1

framing esf

clock source line secondary 1

linecode b8zs

ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-fgb dtmf dnis

but it seems that doesn't want to work. I'm also using pots dial peer and translation rules for terminating the calls through this T1,

any clues?

Thanks

FGB support(winkstart) has been around for ages on the AS5XXX and 26/36 etc platforms.

FGB does not have suppport for ANI - the only way you can get it on conventional T1 CAS is using Feature Group D - the ANI and DNIS are distinguished by the ST and KP tones. Refer here for more information -

You may be able to use a new feature and pass the ANI information in band with FGB, but the switch you are connected to would need to support it as well -

What Voice Gateway are you using? I believe you need an AS5300 to support e&m-fgb. This was the case about 6 months ago and it may be available on more platforms now though.

I'm using a 5300, and I'm sending the ANI with a translation rule, but it seems that is using other ANI or it might the ANI in other way, and don't know on which one :(

Thanks in advance

Well, now I'm using the next configuration:

controller T1 1

framing esf

clock source line secondary 1

linecode b8zs

ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-fgd mf ani-dnis

(It didn't accept the cas config !!) I'm using 12.2(7c) IOS, but still can not send the ANI (aparently), but also I'm looking on the other side of the gw (the device that should receive the ANI).

Again, thanks for your answers !! and sure I'll let you know the ending

Hello everyone. Finally it worked with the next config:

controller T1 1

framing esf

clock source line secondary 1

linecode b8zs

ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-24 type fgd-eana mf ani-dnis

and also had to configure on the dial-peer and on the voice port the

calling-number outbound range XXXX

command. Thanks for your tips and answers

Is this a VOIP installation between PBX's or are you receiving Caller ID to your IP Phones with T1 CAS?

Well, the gw is conected to a PBX, and I should send the ANI from the GW to the PBX, for billing purpouses, and the interface is T1 CAS
