Announce to subscriber that your alternate greeting is on

A question has been posed as to if Unity is able to prompt a subscriber when they access there mailbox, can the system notify them that their alternate greeting is on. Is this currently possible or is it a potential idea for the future?

this currently isn't possible.

it'd be nice to have this coupled with a proper "expirable" greeting such that you can set your alternate greeting to be active until a specific date (i.e. the day you return from vacation). As always with things like this be sure to ping your account team to get a PERS request in for it so the product folks know it's something folks want.
