Are Network Modules hot swappable on the Cat 6509?

I have Cat 6509s running and want to insert some new modules. However, I have been unable to find a definitive answer as to whether the insertion of new modules will result in other interfaces on the switch taking a hit when I install the new modules. The documentation I've seen tends to indicate that it won't cause a hit but any advice/experiences are welcome.

All system elements including power supplies, fans, supervisors, and line-card modules are hot swappable on Catalyst 6500.But i recommend you be more careful with voice modules.

All 6500 modules are hot-swappable I have removed and inserted modules numerous times and never had any trouble.

As a side note, there are commands to actually turn off a module before you remove it.

Type-> set module power [ up | down ]
