AS5300 G.723.1 support

Hi all,

Has anybody experienced a problem with the G.723.1 silence frames on AS5300? It seems not to be able to handle those well.

TIA.

Re: AS5300 G.723.1 support

With G723.1 if you choose the non-Annex A version, then you need to turn ON vad to avoid sending silent packets. If you choose the AnnexA version then VAD is embedded and whether or not you turn on vad on the voip dial-peer does not make a difference: silence packets should be embedded. Make sure that both sides are negotiating the correct codec and VAD settings by "incoming called-number ..." on your voip peers.

See the doc below that specifies this further

"There are two versions of G.723.1, Annex-A and non Annex-A. These versions do not interoperate. G.723.1 Annex-A includes a built-in IETF VAD algorithm and CNG"

Hope this helps.
