How to configure a codec−class on the gateway to negotiate the second call using G.711 when G.729 is the default codec used???.
I know in simultaneous dual-port operation, the second port is limited to G.711 when using G.729.
Without this configuration, the second call will fail.
Thanks

Check out:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/788/voip/ata_gatekeeper.html#register
Paying particular attention to the "Registering the ATA 186 with the Gatekeeper" section which discusses codec negotiation.
To configure an IOS gateway to use a codec class:
1. In global configuration mode configure:
voice class codec
codec preference 1
codec preference 2
Where "class-#" is a value from 1-10000 and "codec-type" is g711ulaw, g711alaw, g729br8, etc.
2. Under your VoIP dial-peer configure:
voice-class codec
Where "class-#" corresponds to the number of the codec-class you just configured.
The gateway should now negotiate the codec in preferential order until it finds one that can be agreed upon with the other endpoint.
Thanks,
