Audio broadcast to 7960 phone

Hoot and holler is working on 7970 phone. When i tried on a 7960 phone, the speaker and mute button are not lighted. No sounds were transmitted.

Is there any settings or firmware that may cause it?

i c, should the light on mute and speaker button turned on? For my case, i used the exact same sample apps for 7970 and 7960 but only can hear voices on 7970. :(

For 7960, the mute button and the speaker button should be on, so, you will see Red and Green.

Might be some sort of port enforcement going on?

The docs say the port chosen for RTPTx/RTPRx commands must be between 20480 - 32768. Maybe 7960 is discarding command?

yes, it has to be between 20480 and 32768 and have to be EVEN number.

I'm using port 20482 which is within range and even number. I'm using the sample hootie application and it's working fine on 7970 phones, which well discard the idea of ports are being blocked. When I tried on a 7960, the lights are not lighted and can't hear anything. Any idea what may have went wrong?

I'm running on CM 4.0(2) and the load version on 7960 is 7.0 (P00307020200).

Did you remember to associate and end user in ccmadmin with the 7960? In a more general sense, do you know what the phone is responding with?

ALso, do you have 'Web Access Enabled' on the 7960 (from ccmadmin > Device)? (might be called 'Web Enabled', can't remember exactly).

We were having problems with the hoot service not working on 7961 and 7970 phones as well.

Our fix was to change the hootgroups.txt file from the standard port to a high level even port for all of the groups.

Hoot Group C:239.192.17.192:20482::

Hoot Group D:239.192.17.193:20482::
