Backup of Unity using MSDE as the DB

I posted earlier, asking about Unity backups. I asked if using Veritas with system state and the SQL agent would give me a COMPLETE backup. The answer I received back was yes.<br><br>I completely forgot that I was running MSDE and not SQL... does this matter? Does the Veritas SQL agent work the same with MSDE???<br><br>

Re: Backup of Unity using MSDE as the DB

I haven't tried it myself but it should work fine. The primary differences between MSDE version and the full SQL are limits imposed by MS on the number of simultaneous connections to the DB, no support for replication, no enterprise manager (although we negotiated the right to ship the EM anyway in our case) and the like. The actual database engine is identical and this should work fine with any tape backup system that supports SQL 2000.
