BARS fails after ES upgrade

A field tech installed ES 28 on CCM4.1(3) to fix a replication problem and now the BARS tool (4.0.8) does not work. The BARS tool, which is on the Subscriber, cannot back up the Publisher database to the Subscriber's local drive. This worked before the ES upgrade. The following error appears when trying to get past the Data Source Server Configuration Step:

"All components for Cisco CallManager could not be found.

Error: Could not find Cisco CallManager database on this server.

Verify if Cisco CallManager is installed on trecaccm01."

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Re: BARS fails after ES upgrade

You can use the subscriber as a backup server and backup the publisher from there. This is supported, but not recommended per:

"Although any server in the Cisco CallManager cluster can act as the backup server, Cisco recommends that you designate the publisher database server as the backup server. One backup server is required within a Cisco CallManager cluster. You designate a server as a backup server during BARS installation"

It is possible that RPC could have crashed at some time.

You may try to reinstall BARS in the SUB.

I would configure it as following:

Backup server -> PUB

Target server -> SUB
