basic authentication in 7940 + IIS web server

hi,

I've problem with basic authentication with 7940 series when 7940 try to browse to URL that have virtual directory security set to basic authentication

the 7940 display the 'authentication required' screen with 'user name' and 'password' input field and 'select' & 'exit' softkey

when I've filled 'user name' and 'password' input field, I can't submit those info to web server by click 'select' or 'exit' softkey

question : how to do a basic authentication on 7940 ? any workaround ?

thanks in advance

rudi

Re: basic authentication in 7940 + IIS web server

I'm not sure if this will help, but when I was having authentication problems, I fired up ethereal on the services box, set the filter to http and had a look at what was really going on.

Other than that, the obvious workaround would be to have the script first return a menu, where the user enters login & password, and which is submitted to the server. That will put the authentication into your script, so you have to be careful that users don't trick the script.
