I'm about to invest in a High density voice module so our main router can provide voice gateway failover for our catalyst 6000 and I'd like to monitor the catalyst's transcoding usage. Is there a better place to do this than in CallManager Serviceability:RealTime Monitor:CiscoTranscodeDevice? Is there a way to see historic usage from the command line on the 6000?
I was really hoping for something other than a sales pitch. I wouldn't think I would need to spend several thousand dollars to see how many transcoding sessions were taking place at a given time. Hmm, maybe I'll just buy HP Openview for $5,000 so I can make sure I don't need to spend $2,000 on extra transcoding resources . . .
