Building a new a/d around Unity

building a new a/d around Unity

Software Version: 3.12

Problem Description: My active directory has been corrupted. Unity is working fine. I need to rebuild my active directory and exchange 2000(from scratch). Can my existing working version of Unity reconnect to this new a/d and keep all its user information?

Re: Building a new a/d around Unity

I would backup Unity using DiRT, rebuild your AD/Exchange, install 3.1.2 fresh and then do the DiRT restore. Check out the DiRT documentation and training videos on AnswerMonkey:

http://www.answermonkey.net/App_DisasterRecoveryTools.htm

If you somehow save your AD objects in the rebuild process, the DiRT restore will bind to them during the restore (regardless of if they are "stamped" as subscribers or not). It'll look for them by Directory ID first, then by RDN then by MailNickname/Alias. If a match is found it'll bind to the account. If no match is found a new Exchange enabled AD account is created on the fly.
