C4224 Question

This is my first time configuring a Cat 4224 Access Gateway Switch and I had a question about the FastEthernet ports. I see there are 24 physical fast ethernet ports on mod 5. However, the numbering in IOS begins with fe 5/0 through 5/24. What is 5/0? I am also assuming that fe 0/0 is the "management" interface. What would this be used for? Thanks.

Re: C4224 Question

As far as I know the f0/0 is only for management purposes. It says that is is management interface on the chassis.

Hope this helps,
