Is there any real significance of the ownership of a call handler. I assumed that perhaps it would give people rights to the call handler. Is there a way to give a person the rights to a particular call handler???
There isn't any real significance. The only time the owner would make a difference is if you were using the system greeting for the CallHandler but most folks wouldn't do this. It isn't used for rights or anything like that. In Unity each object needs an owner therefore CallHandlers have one too. You can switch ownership around and things will still work the same.
Just to be clear... the ownership WILL do something more significant soon. The original design had the owner of call handlers being able to edit it over the phone and owners of distribution lists being able to change membership over the phone etc... one of those things on the design board that got cut along the way to make schedules.
In Unity 4.0 if you are the owner or a member of a public DL that owns a handler you will be able to change it's greetings over the phone conversation... this is something folks have been wairing on for a while.
The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
