Can unity 2.4 and call manager 3.0 reside on the same machine? If so will exchange effect things when it is loaded on a 2000 server machine. If they can what order should the software be loaded in?

Call Manager and Unity need to be run on seperate servers at this time.
Neither Cisco or AV will support a configuration where everything is on the same box. Too much excitement for one server to handle well...

Along those lines, has Unity been 'certified' to Cisco's MCS-7835 box? (Compaq 1850R). Or is it just a matter of CPU, Memory, etc?

Since we primarily use Dell platforms, the integration test environments use comparable components to meet the required hardware specifications for the Cisco Media Convergence Server. Currently, we run CCM 3.0 in our labs on a number of systems that have similar hardware configurations to the MCS-7820, MCS-7822, and MCS-7830.

For the record, the Cisco MCS-7835 is the same as Compaq DL380. This can be very helpful in getting the Compaq management agents and SSD's.
