We have configured an Intercluster trunk between an Avaya S8300 and Call Manager 3.3. When calls are placed from an Avaya IP phone to a Cisco IP Phone everything works fine. When calls are placed from Cisco IP phones to the Avaya system the call completes but there is no audio. Also the call terminates after 8 seconds with no user intervention. This happens with either the G711 or G729 codec. Any suggestions?

Take a look through this document if you haven't done so already:

I think the problem you are having has to do with the type of trunk you are setting up (when you mentioned intercluster trunk that caught my eye). With CM 3.3 there is a new menu for creating "trunks". The problem is that under it you only have intercluster trunks (which are just for going from Call Manager cluster to cluster) and also gatekeeper controlled trunks.
Make sure you setup the trunk just as if it were an H.323 gateway (under the gateway menu) and that should work for you.

We actually got this to work with intercluster trunk non-gatekeeper controlled. We had to change the IP audio hairpinning setting to no on the signal group on the Avaya.
