Call manager transfer issue

I find out the following strange situation:

I was in a call (IP phone 7940). Another call was transfer from a VG248 analog phone to my IP phone. Without my intervention, my original call was put in hold and I ended talking with the call that was transfered.

What was the problem? It is a bug?

Is Auto Answer configured for that phone?

No, auto answer is not configured.
