call pickup without pressing the "Gpickup" softkey

Is there a way to "group Pickup" a call without pressing the softkey "GPickUp". Something like only dial the ID of the Group PickUp....

Re: call pickup without pressing the "Gpickup" softkey

If you only configure a SINGLE pickup group for the entire CME system, then pressing GPickUp will automatically pickup that group without requiring the user to enter the group number. As soon as you add a second pickup-group (under any of the ephone-dn) anywhere in the system, then this stops working and you have to enter the group number.

The (directed) PickUp softkey (as opposed to the GPickUp key) does not and never did have this function, it always requires you to enter some digits after pressing the key.

The "GPickUp *" key sequence is used for pickup of the local group (i.e the group of the ephone-dn that is being used to invoke the GPickUp), but again it only applies if there is more than one pickup-group.

try "show run | include pickup-group" and see how many pickup groups
