Call Preservation W/H.323 GW and CCM

If CallManager fails,

1. What happens to a call from the PSTN through H.323 GW ?

1b. With and without GateKeeper.

2. What Happens to call when running over IPWAN ?

I am interested if the voice path is perserved, and maybe the signal path is lost. Will call remain up if CCM fails ?

What a gate failure, Iassume the PRI goes down and the channel disconnects. Will the Gateway perform any signal freezing, then switch to secondary gateway.

Thanks for all you consideration..

Steve

Steve,

Calls controlled via H.323 will fail within about 30s should either of the signalling end-points fail (e.g CallManager). This affects intercluster trunks and calls through gateways. This is an H.323 issue with or without a gateway.

Call preservation (i.e. keeping the audio path up) only works for skinny devices and MGCP gateways.
