Call sent to h323 endpoint from CCM4 can;t be transferred back?

Hi,

I have a CCM4.1 cluster. If I call a h323 endpoint I can answer the call fine. I can also put the call on hold and transfer the call using the Cisco IP phone. But If I try and transfer the call from the h323 endpoint back to a cisco ip phone nothing happens. Anyone have this kind of problem before.

Cheers,

Erik

You probalbly will require an MTU for the H323 end device.

I also have same your issue. I've opened TAC case but TAC engineer answered unclearly, sometimes he tell me it's not supported and sometimes he tell me it's supported:-(. I still follow this case.

Can the end point call onto the cluster ok? If not check the calling search space and check 'Media Termination Point Required' is selected if added as a gateway.

I can dial from the endpoint fine. Just can't really do anything with the call once it has been terminated on the h323 endpoint.

What H323 Client are you using for the end point?

I'm using openphone to test with, which is based on openh323. I have tried others though and they all seem to do the same thing.

Hi,

Any chance you could send a detailed ccm trace (whilst simulating what you describe) as this would determine where the error lies? Sounds like you're running out of DSP resources.

Yep, I'll get the all the traces together and post here shortly. Thanks

Re: Call sent to h323 endpoint from CCM4 can;t be transferred ba

Hi, all,

Recently I had the same problem. I open a TAC case and the engineer told me that the H.323 phone was using H.450.x and it is not supported in CallManager by now.

Hope this helps,

Juan Luis

Ok. I finally managed to get the traces. It seems to be a problem with CCM recognising the PDU that I am sending back.

When I initiate a transfer I see this in the CCM trace.

I have attached the logs also.

Made call from x8000 to x8888 (H323 EP) at 9:43.00

Answered at 9:43.15

Initiate transfer at 9:43.45 to x6000

Hangup at 09:44.00

Many thanks,

Erik

Re: Call sent to h323 endpoint from CCM4 can;t be transferred ba

I have a similar problem.

We have a CCM4.1.3 setup in NYC connected via H323 to London. In london they are on the Avia office voip system.

London can call the US, and be placed on hold and transferred with nor problems.

When a US user calls London, if the call is placed on hold or transferred the call drops.
