Sometimes my users need to use the corporate directory when transfering a call to a colleague.
However, when they press the transfer button they do not have enough time to locate the correct user in the directory before CallManager 'fails' the call.
Is there a system parameter to lengthen the time my users get to complete the transfer ?
TIA.

When you push Trfr button, you get a new dialtone, your first call gets put on hold. With the new dial tone should start the Interdigit timer. set by T302 service parameter. This is by default 15 seconds. This can be made higher, but then it will impact outbound calls when they are dialed, after the last digit it will wait X number of seconds (T302 = X) before sending the call out.
To change this parameter, GO to Service -> Service Parameters -> Cisco Callmanager.
Here is a brief description of the timer.
This parameter specifies an interdigit timer for sending the SETUP ACK message. The timer restarts each time a digit Cisco CallManager receives a digit. When this timer expires, Cisco CallManager routes the dialed digits. For exact timer definitions, refer to the Q.931 specification.
This is a required field.
Default: 15000.
Unit: msec.
Minimum: 3000.
Maximum: 75000.

Thanks for that - T302 has been reduced by customer request to 5 seconds - explains the short period of time they're getting to complete xfr.

There is another way the users can use this feature.
Whilst on the current call - go to the directory and search for the person you want to transfer to. When you find them press dial. The phone will then prompt you 'Handle Current Call' Press the transfer softkey to instigate a transfer to this number.
