Caller ID through VG200 gateways

In an AVVID set-up with VG200 MGCP gateway as PSTN back-up,is there

a specific way of setting an external phone number mask for this gateway on the CallManager by which caller ID can be sent to the person receiving our call.Or must this be configured in the gateway itself.

Thanks

Anu

if you are using a pri connected to the gateway you can send almost anything if the telco allows that. if you have an fxo connection meaning you ordered pots lines from the telco you cant. the phone company sends the information based on what line the call is comming from just like in your house. i have neverf asked but the phone comany may be able to overide the actuall number with a main number that you have listed.

Thanks. So from what I understand we will have to work with TELCO to reset the Caller ID to what we want the Called party to see as.

Actually our primary PSTN gateway is a 6608 T1 digital PRI gateway. The Caller

ID field has the correct Caller ID to be displayed but still the PSTN calls go to the receiving side with the wrong ID.Could this still be a TELCO problem.

Thanks

Hi,

Can you give us an example of an incorrect caller ID?Is it possible your TELCO sends out only the billing number?

Make sure your calling party is NOT set to 4 digits.(Telco doesn't like 4 digits)

Add a calling party transform mask to the route pattern.

example:

like 915551xxxx. where xxxx=extenstion=12492

then when call goes out its masked to 9155512492.

What happens is when a user with DID 2159496634 calls outside, his

ID shows up as 2159496630 but the PRI gateway via which the call

goes to the PSTN has a Caller ID 2159492850.Can the TELCO be

manipulating the digits.

1)open a ticket with telco

2) if you want to play..Get a 2600/vg200 or whatever with a hdv-t1 module

configure it with h.323 and sing over the PRI to it. see what happens.

As this is a production environment,we will open a ticket with Telco.

Thanks
