caller name in facility field

Does anybody know if/when caller name display in the ISDN q.931 facility field will be supported. It seems that most carriers and PBXs send caller name in this field and I have had several customers complain about losing caller name after switching to CallManager.

For this specific case, my customer is using a Nortel Meridian 1 PBX with a PRI (NI2) link into a 7206 gateway. CallManager version is 3.1(2c). From the debug below, it looks to me like name display is being sent in the facility field. Any ideas on how to get this working?

I am not sure when it will be supported. Q.sig puts the caller name in the facility ie, but from what I understand it still might not work if it is some other switch type and the caller name is in the facility field. Can the PBX or the Telco put the caller name in the display ie. That is where callmanager currently looks.

Thank you,

-Mckee

Hi Mckee,

If the switch type is net5 can caller names be exchanged? If so in what circunstances? I'm talking about a connection between Nortel PBX and CCM3.0.8?

Thanks in advance. Regards,

Sergio

You are right as I ran into this as well.

I would like to when also.

BellSouth - One of the largest ILECs in the country only supports the caller ID name element in the ISDN Q.931 facility message. Call Manager only supports it the ISDN Q.931setup message.

This is extremely important when taking out names for CTI database mapping.
