We've got Cisco CallManager 3.0(8) with Unity Enterprise 2.4.6. Can't get callerID or distinctive ring on calls coming in through our main number(AutoAttendant). Can this not be done with Unity?

Project Mgr. 925 973-3159
Pylon Solutions
San Ramon CA
As long as your gateway gathers caller ID from the PSTN, external caller ID should show up on Unity subscriber phones after a transfer is completed. It's actually a function of Call Manager, not Unity. Unity doesn't "pass" caller ID along to transferred-to phones in any integration. It's the total responsibility of the switch to transition the display on the transferred-to phone.
I have seen this work in CCM integration. For supervised transfers, CCM will display the calling party on the transferred-to phone as the Unity port that is doing the supervised transfer. Once the transferred-to party answers the phone, then CCM changes the calling party on the transferred-to phone to the external caller ID.
On release transfers, you might see the Unity port ID show up on the transferred-to phone real fast, the followed by the external caller ID.
Unity is not responsible for distinctive ringing, so I don't know how to help out on that one.
