CallerID will not display using MGCP

We have upgraded a gateway to MGCP from H.323 and the outgoing calls no longer displayed the called party digits. We were also experiencing one-way voice which may have caused this.

Are there any other reasons why this may occur?

Thank you,

Erik.

Re: CallerID will not display using MGCP

Is this by any chance an FXO gateway?

Hi,

Well, we do have a link to a PABX...

Re: CallerID will not display using MGCP

That doesn't look like MGCP is configured. Here is what MGCP for CallManager looks like:

mgcp

mgcp call-agent 10.1.1.2 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1

!

ccm-manager mgcp

ccm-manager music-on-hold

!

controller E1 1/0

pri-group timeslots 1-31 service mgcp

!

interface Serial1/0:15

no ip address

no logging event link-status

isdn switch-type primary-qsig

isdn protocol-emulate network

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn T310 4000

isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager

no cdp enable

!

dial-peer voice 9991015 pots

application mgcpapp

port 1/0:15

In CallManager you should have an MGCP gateway configured of the proper IOS gateway type, the name for it should be the name exactly as it appears on the router.

Things should sync up then. One warning, IOS QSIG and CallManager QSIG aren't 100% the same, so you may get some odd results.

Re: CallerID will not display using MGCP

I should add that if you're just doing IOS gateway to IOS gateway, H.323 is the only supported method unless CallManager is controlling both gateways.
