CallHandler - can it dial a Subscriber on a different Unity?

Hello again.

Environment: Unity 3.1.5, 2 Unity servers tied in with AD, 1 Global Domain

I have a callhander that plays a greeting allowing the user to choose different department. I have a subscriber vm box for all the departments, but one of them is located on a different Unity server.

Is there anyway to point one of the Caller Input keys to dial a subscriber on a different Unity server?

thank you!!!

you'll have to create a call handler mapped to that 1 key dial option that does a release transfer to the extension for the subscriber you want to ring... presumably the forwarding rule on that subscriber's phone will then forward the call to the appropriate Unity server if necessary.

There's no way to point directly from a one key rule on one Unity server to a subscriber on another.

JEFF,

What do you mean by a 1 key rule?

Re: CallHandler - can it dial a Subscriber on a different Unity?

sorry... old school terminology - the user input page. You can setup a rule for each of the keys 0-9 * and # - you would set up one of these keys to "attempt transfer for" a call handler that's configured to do a release transfer to where you want it to go (be sure to use the alternate transfer rule on that handler so it's always active).

You may be interested in the "Audio text applications in Unity" chapter that's available on the documents page of www.CiscoUnityTools.com - it goes into some detail about all the things you can do with call handlers and transfers and user input keys and the like... it's written for 4.0(1) but applies to 3.x versions as well with only a few exceptions.
