Calling Search space

What is the difference between the calling search space field at the "phone device level" and the calling search space field at the " phone line level"

I I have a phone with two lines with two different calling search space, let's say line 1, calling search space 1, lien 2 calling search space two ... what will be the content of the field calling search space in the phone device window ?

none ? Calling Search space 1 ? or calling search space 2 ?

Re: Calling Search space

A CSS assigned to an IP Phone, will define the Partitions that this particular phone will be able to call. I recommend against assigning actual lines into CSS's unless there is a reason you don't want certain phones to call other certain phones. This will only confuse you down the road as you configure voicemail, confrencing, call park etc. I usually assign a phone to a CSS and leave the lines in the NONE partition. Dave from Cisco may have better/other advice. Also, you may want to refer to the AVVID design guide for additional info.
