CallManager using Audix VM via SMDI and analog

Hello all,

Can anyone comment on integrating CM 3.1 into an existing Audix VM that the customer wants to use.

I'm assuming I'll need to use an SMDI interface but

wondering what type of analog interface would be needed (FXS, FXO, E&M).

Has anyone done this?

Depends on how many ports you need. The 7630dpa will work with the Audix as well as the Octel 250/350. The Cisco VG248 gateway is also an option. You can get some info from cisco.com on this product.

I don't think you have much choice here really. What does the AUDIX already have installed, that's what you'll need. It would probably cost as much to replace the ports on the Audix for another type and then the relevant Cisco ports, as it would to install UNITY and get better integration (and support).

If the customer wants to stick with Audix (and other than for cost reasons I can't think why), then ask them what ports it's got on it and quote them those type.
