Can 7940 automatically activate speakerphone on inbound calls?

I have a client whose old phone system had a feature they may need . . .

If someone dialed an extension, the phone would automatically answer and activate the speakerphone.

Is this possible on a 7940? On any other IP phone models?

Another SE on a phone call answered this. He said to check out www.berbee.com and he was thinking they have an AutoAnswer XML application that does something similar.

Most likely, this capability should be available inherently in CallManager in the next major release. Probably near the end of the year. That is not a definite, I just wanted to give you an idea.

If you are using ICM, you can configure it to 'Auto Answer'. What phone you use shouldn't matter there. I've tested this with just IP Softphone.
