Can I use NM-HDV-1E1 for PPP over ISDN ?

Our client has a NM-HDV module, which he use for termination VoIP over ISDN PRI. At the same time, he has remote site which should make an ISDN connection to that router for data transmission.

Can he use the same module to establish a PPP over ISDN connection to that router ?

Unfortunately, no, he cannot use this voice module for that purpose, he might consider using NM-1CE1U module.

Correction: Actually, you CAN use the NM-HDV and corresponding E1-MFT or T1-MFT card for data as well as voice connections. Ofcourse it is a waste of DSP resources but you can certainly use it to configure a channel-group and send data over the E1 or T1 over the LAN. After you configure your channel-group, it creates a serial interface for you and you can configure encap ppp on that interface and the ip addresses and take it from there.

Hope this helps. Sorry for the incorrect answer previously.
