Can mail server name be removed from exchange after upgrading to 3.1.5

After upgrading from 2.4.6 to 3.1.5, the mail server name that was running previously on unity is still listed in exchange administrator.

Can it be safely deleted?

Does this mean then that a 2.x to 3.x upgrade allows you to change the serve name?

the 2.x to 3.x "upgrade" is just an export from 2.x and an import into a new 3.x install - the server name, domain name, back end configuration etc... can all change - the import doesn't care about any of that.
