Can't add sip registrar in MCU

Problem description:

I needed to add the SIP registrar to MCU 5310 and I got those errors in logs:

and the status is Unregistered

19586 2014/03/08 00:28:37.567 SIP                     Error     Registration failure due to lack of valid response

19587 2014/03/08 00:29:37.286 NETWORK                 Error     Connect failed with errno 60

19588 2014/03/08 00:29:37.287 FEEDBACK_NOTIFIERS      Warning    Notifier (index: 1) unable to connect to for sending event  notification

19589 2014/03/08 00:29:37.567 SIP                     Error     Registration failure due to lack of valid response

MCU Configurations:

Under Settings > SIP >

I provided these configurations:

SIP registrar usage : Enabled

SIP registrar domain: "Call Manager IP address for Publisher"

Username: "Call Manager Admin Username"

Password: "Call Manager Admin Password"

Allow numeric ID registration for conferences: "I ticked the checked box"

SIP Call Settings:

SIP Proxy address: "Call Manager IP address for Publisher"

Outgoing transport: " I selected UDP"

Use local certificate for outgoing connections and registrations: "I ticked the checked box"

CUCM Configuration:

Version: 9.1

What I did on CUCM is looks like in this URL:

Creating a profile on CUCM

  1. Log in to the CUCM web interface.
  2. Go to Device > Device Settings > SIP Profile and click Add New.
  3. Enter a name for this profile (for example Standard SIP Profile).
  4. Click Save

Adding a user account on the CUCM

  1. Go to User management > End User and click Add New.
  2. Enter the User ID e.g. 6000.
  3. Enter a password and PIN for this account.
  4. For Last name enter MCU.
  5. Click Save.

Adding the MCU as a phone device

CUCM 6 treats every device as a phone line, including the MCU.

  1. Go to Device > Phone and click Add New.
  2. For Phone Type select Third party SIP device (Advanced) and then click Next.
  3. For MAC address do not use the MCU's port A MAC address: instead use the extension preceded by as many zeros as required to bring the total length to 12 digits e.g. 000000006000.
  4. For Description, the CUCM 6 automatically inserts the letters SEP plus the MAC address entered. Accept this default.
  5. For Device pool, select Default.
  6. For Phone Button Template select Third-party SIP device (Advanced).
  7. For Owner User ID select the user created previously.
  8. In the Protocol specific information section, for Device Security Profile select Third-party SIP Device Advanced.
  9. For SIP Profile select Standard SIP Profile.
  10. For Digest user enter the User ID e.g. 6000.
  11. Click Save.
  12. In the Association information section click Line [1] - Add a new DN link.
  13. For Directory Number enter the User ID (6000 in this example).
  14. Click Save and then click Reset.

Registering the Cisco TelePresence MCU with CUCM

  1. Login to the MCU and go to Settings > SIP.
  2. For SIP registrar settings select either Register MCU only or Allow conference registration (if you added additional user IDs).
  3. For SIP registrar address enter the IP address of the CUCM.
  4. For SIP registrar type select Standard SIP.
  5. For Username enter the User ID (6000 in our example).
  6. Enter the password you provided earlier for this User ID.
  7. For Outgoing transport select either UDP or TCP.
  8. Click Apply changes.

Thanks a lot
