Cause ! = 0X8081 - unallocated / unassigned number

Hi Patrick

I have a problem with my lab and that is to do with H323 connected to PSTN CME Router in other word back to back E1 VWIC card. I have configured H323 gatway in the CUCM7 to BR1, and followed the work book lab correctly. My problem is when I make call from PSTN to the BR1 I get this message “Cause i = 0x8081 - Unallocated/unassigned number”

Here is my running config for my PSTN

Cause ! = 0X8081 - unallocated / unassigned number

there are a few commands you can try, but this unallocated number error is due to the number not being resolved properly or going into the wrong place (perhaps hitting the wrong dial-peer).

Find out, what the number is being resolved to by doing the following command

test voice translation-rule 10 XXXX

XXXX is the number you are calling.  Here you will see what the gateway is translating the number to. Here's a sample of the output

Router#test voice translation-rule 10 5959

Matched with rule 15

Original number: 5959   Translated number: 5551212500

Original number type: none      Translated number type: none

Original number plan: none      Translated number plan: none

After this you will have to look at what number is being translated and it will get you closer to your answer

Cause ! = 0X8081 - unallocated / unassigned number

sorry, you will be doing

test voice translation-rule 1 XXXX

XXXX is the number you are calling into.  Looks like you are using rule 1 in your running-config.

Hi Julio

Well done

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /\(^7023332\)\(....\)/ /\2/

voice translation-profile STRIP

I discovered my problem and that was the above translation I have an extra dot. Once I did my test using your test procedure I did not much anything. I am able to make call from the PSTN

I really appreciate for your help is all working now

Thanks

You can re-write the rule above more concisely as:

rule 1 /^7023332/ //
