The resource unavailable means, the requested channel or service is
unavailable for an unknown reason.
The problem might be due to a couple of resons.
1. which side disconnect the call with this reason
in which direction.
2. You might be requesting bchannels in ascending while the swicth
is hoping to allocate b-channel in decending manner, hence swicth will reject the cal with
requested channel unavailable.
try using the command "isdn bchan-number-order ascending / decending" to twaek
this and see.
3. The companding type might not be properly matched.
are you sent for A-law or U-law. Verify from the swicth administrator.
4. Are the swicth b-channel set to 56K or 64K. verify this as well and this can be twaeked with the
command.
annc(config-if)#isdn incoming-voice modem ?
56 B Channel Bandwidth of 56Kb/s
64 B Channel Bandwidth of 64Kb/s

Hi,
This problem is almost surely a mismatch problem btw the Hicom and the 7206. As mentioned, check the channel search order and bandwidth and ensure that they match on both devices. The channel search order has to be such that there is little probability of the Cisco and Hicom trying to pick the same channel to handle calls they are processing.
I'm not too familiar with Hicom but may be there is some proprietary signalling info that it sends over trunk lines that the 7206 does not understand this could also cause a conflict and resources will not be allocated as and when due.

Hello,
I have just run into the same problem with a 7206VXR (PA-VXA-1TE1) and Ericsson MD110.
I have also opened a TAC case ( #C859789), and they advised me to set the ascendig bchan-ored. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem...
What I recognized is: I checked the log file and I found controller E1 donw/up messages! It means that the E1 controller restarted in that time, and the outgoing calls failed with that resource unavailable error message. I did a measure with an ISDN tester to find out what could cause the controller restart but I did not see any L1 error. Now I suspect some kind of electrical impact should cause the restart of the Q.Sig (the E1 cable is almost 100meter long and this is a factory!) therefore today I make led the voice gateway to the MD110 as close as possible.
Tomorrow I will check the log...

Hi, recently I make the same configuration btw an HICOM and a 7204.
First of all, you must check the protocol is is ISDN or Q.Sig and in the
interface Serial x/x:15 if it's the command:
ISDN BCHAN-NUMBER-ORDER ASCENDING.
Let me know,
